Bipasha’s claims negated

As claimed by actress Bipasha Basu that Aishwariya Rai Bachchan had hand in ousting her from the movie ‘Ravana’, but now the insider sources has negated her statement. It has been revealed that Bipasha was never considered in first place for the role in the flick.

Director Mani Ratnam had planned to include an item number in the film. He was to introduce a character of Mandodari, Ravana’s beautiful wife into the film. When the news floated that director is searching for an actress to do an item number and a guest appearance, Bipasha pushed herself for the role. She even told the press that she is offered a supporting role in Ravana.

But when she realized that the role is nonexistent she pleaded Mani Sir, and was obliged by him. However it was shocking for him when Bipasha had turned the arrow on Aishwariya and his wife. After this reality Bipasha now has become a topic of fun.

Bipasha on small screen

Actress Bipasha Basu is all set to rock the small screen. The news is that this Bong bombshell will host an upcoming reality show, Female Model Hunt.

The show ‘Female Model hunt’ will be produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s TV software production company Red Chillies Idiot Box and is based on popular US show America’s Next Top Model. It is yet to be finalized that which channel will air the show.

Also the rumours are that for this Bipasha will get a whopping Rs 65-70 lakh per episode. If the deal gets finalized, Bipasha will become the highest-paid woman celebrity on Indian television. The other actresses who got paycheque in the 30-plus bracket are Preity Zinta, Sushmita Sen and Rani Mukherji.

Bips at break

Actress Bipasha Basu is taking a break to give her shooting a skip and chilling at home. But whenever asked about her upcoming films she quickly talks about her latest flick with Priyadarshan. She declares, “This is what I love about my life. After so many years of hard work, I can choose my films. And it is very important for me to keep taking these small holidays. What do you think that I shoot round the year…? No ways.”

The latest movie by Priyadarshan is a political thriller which also casts Akshay Khanna, Ajay Devgan and Paresh Rawal. She says, “Have heard so much about the way the South film industry functions, but this is my first with a Tamil director and the experience is fabulous.”

She is still basking in the success of her last release, All the Best. Recently she was spotted just attending celebratory parties of her flick.

Bips fitness DVD

Women have always envied Bipasha. Not only for having a hunk of a boyfriend John Abraham, but they are,also, jealous of her perfect figure. Bipasha Basu has been working very hard to achieve the perfect figure and has taken fitness to just another level altogether. What next, in her diary is compilation of a DVD on her fitness.

One of the finest examples of perfect shape and body is Kareena Kapoor who has come on size zero. So therefore her fitness trainer Rujuta Diwekar came out with a book on her fitness. Similar is the case with Shilpa Shetty who has launched her DVD on yoga.

According to sources Bipasha has been working on the idea and the DVD will be out next year. It is expected that John Abraham will also feature in the DVD. Already a queue of producers is formed for release of her DVD.

Bips-Vidya friends again

It seems that the cold war between the two amazing Bollywood actresses, Bipasha Basu and Vidya Balan has come to an end. The two had now patched up at the success party of Bips recently released film All The Best:Fun Begins and now both Vidya and Bipasha are friends again.

Problems between Bipasha Basu and Vidya Balan started when it was rumored that John Abraham and Vidya Balan are getting to close in real life too. Even while shooting for the film SAALAM-E- ISHQ, Vidya and John had a sizzling chemistry on-screen which had put off Bipasha Basu.

According to sources, “When Vidya Balan came to the party, she was given a warm welcome by Bipasha Basu. During a discussion with the cast and crew of the film, Vidya was informed that she was the original choice for Bips role in the flick. Post chatting up with the crew, Bips came to greet Vidya and to everyone surprise gave her a big hug.”

In a interview Bips said, “I never had any problem with Vidya. Many ridiculous stories are printed every day in the media. I don`t change my attitude towards people according to them.”

The hunk was recently seen accompanying Bips to the party hosted by Ajay and Kajol. He was not only beside her ladylove but also took care of Bipasha’s mother and kept her company throughout the event.

Bipash has her hands full with her upcoming projects that include the movie “Pankh” which is based on a drama by Sudipto Chattopadhyay ,where she plays the imagination of a young boy and guides him through his life’s turmoil. The actress is also working on Bunty Walia’s “Lamhaa”.

Bipasha can make you laugh

Bipasha didn’t know that she could attempt comedy until she tried her luck in her previous film No Entry.With her latest movie All the Best which went out to become the biggest comic blockbuster of the year,it can be said for the actress that she knows how to make people laugh.

When asked how she landed up in All the Best,she says,”When I got a chance to then do Devgn Films’ All The Best that is coming to theatres this Diwali (today), I said to myself, this is something I’m not going to miss out on,”
the actress recalls in reminiscence that she couldn’t stop laughing while shooting and dubbing for the situational comic flick.

Bipasha continued saying,”Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan and I worked together, and worked out together at the gym,We also bonded over cricket and swimming after pack-up… and it was one big happy family atmosphere,the entire Goa schedule was like a picnic.”

The actress said that she has great respect for the director Rohit Shetty’s previous comedies-Golmaal and Golmaal Returns and knows that All the Best has the right flavour for entertainment.

Bipasha talking about her co-stars in the movie, went on saying,”All of them have tackled more comedy than I have in my career; so it was a cakewalk for them. However, while shooting with them, I realised that I can tickle a funny bone too.”.She is sure that if sequels to No Entry and All the Best were made,she would jump right in as she has started to enjoy comedy as her new found genre.

Bipasha hates loose talk

The Bengali bombshell has a lot going on for her. With her upcoming movies such as Lamha direected by Rahul Dholakia and Sanjay Gupta’s Pankh,a psychological thriller where Bipasha plays an imaginary character of a young boy who takes help from her in passing through a difficult phase in his life,Bipasha has no reason to look back.

The actress started her career in Bollywood with “Ajnabee” and went on doing films like “Raaz”,which was the biggest superhit of that year and lets not forget what gave her the title of the sexiest actress in the film industry,you guessed it right ! “Jism”.We saw the actress playing a role of an african girl as a double role in her latest blockbuster “All the Best”.
She has also been seen sizzling in a music video with Jay Sean and also in Sonu Nigam’s “tu” when she was a model.

With a lot of good performances to her credit and still more coming her way,she is nothing but excited. The actress said,”When I return from Goa, I’ll get into the promotion of Pankh and shooting some commercials,’’ she says. “My character in Pankh is a very radical one; very strong and exciting.’’ Reports say Bips has tried out 11 different looks in the film, each more sex-citing than the other!

However all the excitement disappears from her face when she has to entertain all the rumours about she controlling her beau,John’s professional life.“I don’t even wish to dignify the rumour saying that I’m responsible for John not doing Chenab Gandhi,’’ says Bipasha, who has never poked her nose in John’s professional decisions” as told to the media by her.
“Honestly I don’t know why I’m even being asked this question?’’she continued.

The actress maintained that she and her boyfriend John are very strong individuals who neither interfere in each other’s professional lives nor drag the other into situations without either’s fault. Bipasha said that she fails to understand why people indulge in such loose talks without realising the professional consequences of it all.

The star cast for the movie Chenab Gandhi is led by Amitabh Bachchan with whom the actress shares an excellent rapport.Moreover she has the highest regard for Sanjay Leela Bhansali (director of Chenab Gandhi) and cordial relations with actress Vidya Balan.

“Rumours such as this upset a lot of personal and professional equations,” concluded Bipasha

Bipasha has a “Pankh” to fly

The Bengali Babe who recently declared herself to be the Bikini Babe of tinsel town will now be seen as a desi damsel in her new movie Pankh.The actress talked about her character in the movie which is based on the drama by Sudipto Chattopadhyay and said,”The character that I am portraying in Pankh is called Nandini. She is as weird as girl from a village can ever be. It’s an angry young woman kind of a character”.Bipasha says that her role in the movie has no particular guideline and it is totally atypical for a girl to play such a character.

Bipasha kick started her career unlike other actresses in bollywood.Her role in Jism still has people in awe of her.The sad part,though,is that she has been typecast ever since, as a sex symbol and Pankh was a perfect opportunity for her to shake off the tag stuck to her.The actress maintains that she is not satisfied with the kind of roles that she has pulled off so far.Few of her other movies include Raaz, Ajnabee, No Entry’, Phir Herapheri, Corporate,Dhoom 2 and recently All The Best which was a huge hit at the Box Office.

Like everyone else in B-town,she wants people to remember her as an actor and not as an eye candy.

Sadly,that is the ugly truth of Bollywood,once a babe,remains a babe and when you have the hunk John Abraham for a boyfriend,who would resist calling you a hotty ?

Bipasha Basu distressed with security during shoot

Too much of anything is not good and that holds true for the bengali beauty too. The actress was shooting for the movie Lamhaa ,which is due to be released next year, in Kashmir when the security around her was tightened due to the crowd that gathered around the set.The pool of men in uniform surrounding her intimidated Bipasha which was apparent with her expressions.

Sensing the tension on Bipasha’s face,the producer of the movie Bunty Walia came to her rescue and asked the security to set aside and give the actress some space.

The producer told that due to the shooting of the film at a massive scale after a long time in Kashmir ,the crowd gathered around to watch it.As a result the security went on an alert to manage the ever increasing crowd and this made Bipasha uncomfortable.Consequently Bunty Walia took Bipasha aside from all the pandemonium and saved the day. The security was relaxed thereafter.

Consequently our security was also beefed up to deal with the swelling crowds that used to throng the sets. On this particular day, when Bipasha was surrounded by security men, I could sense her discomfort at this heightened security blanket around her and had to intervene. Finally, the actress breathed a sigh of relief when the security around her was relaxed.”

LAMHAA is one of the few films that has been shot in Kashmir over the years and is slated to release early next year.
